Michele De Lucchi, known as designer and architect of significant buildings, such as the Padiglione Zero at the Milan EXPO of 2015, has prepared a series of hand-crafted wooden objects, assembled like densely packed haystacks. As a protagonist of international architecture and international design, De Lucchi attempts to keep his being centered on craft by sculpting these intimate wooden totems. While they may resemble buildings, they do not correspond to any building in particular nor do they have interior space. They are architectural sculptures. With the exhibition Michele De Lucchi. Haystacks the Museo Nivola aims to continue the exploration of designers working between art and architecture. Much in the spirit of Costantino Nivola, who throughout his life worked with architects, De Lucchi recognizes the craft is essential to being at the forefront in the world of art, design and architecture
