In art, and with the art of Ruth Guggenheim, "the woman takes possession of herself again alongside the artisan and poet, traveling back in time into the history of culture, with a nimbleness and authority, using her own humble tools; and with a tactility, practiced for thousands of years in cooking and the embroidery of fabrics, that shuns apathy and indifference, and brings as much to the eye as to the touch.
